We'll I guess I'm a rebreather Owner!!

Post by Dmitchell »

I've officially purchased my rebreather: Classic Kiss #200. Got it used from a Seattle Diver who's moving on to another unit.

Now, the lame part is that the rebreather is in Seattle so I haven't even seen it, and I have to wait until February 19th to come down to Seattle to get the rebreather and to take Mel's course!

I guess, I'll have to get out and "suffer" through a few more OC dives to kill time until the 19th!

Congratulations!

Would you like me to take my Classic KISS over to visit yours so that it won't get lonely? #-o

That would be good! I wouldn't want it to get cold!

Erik still has it for the time being. I guess my rebreather is quasi famous it's pictured in the "Isle Royale" article in the last ADM! (at least I assume that's mine he's diving)

BTW, Congrats on being back in the water. :salute: .. Maybe I'll see you while I'm down in Feb!

Good for you! Mel's awesome. I'm starting advanced nitrox/ beginning Deco with her this Thursday, and I hear tell she knows a thing or two about rebreathers!

Yea' She's dove one a time or two!

I did my Adv Nitrox/Deco Instructor Course with her in November we had a great time!

By the time you finish your course, you'll be wanting a rebreather. You'll be at the beach with dragging all these tanks and then there's Mel with the rebreather and a single stage.

Have fun in the course!

Oh, I allready want a rebreather pretty bad! I just felt like I needed to learn tech OC before I went over to the dark side! What RB is Eric going to?

Copis Megladon. It's basically the same idea as a KISS with the ability to swap out the head to be a full ECCR Meg. It's what Mel is diving now.

Maybe you could get a daddy KISS and a mommy KISS to have babies and pass them out to your NWDC friends?? \:D/

That'd be GREAT to link up! Hopefully my doc will have cleared me then and I can be on my CCR for a dive or two.....maybe I'll just follow around behind you guys while Mel is taking you through your DRILLS....I could use a good laugh or two!

Josh.....I'm excited for you! Advanced Nitrox is the class that starts the ball rolling into technical diving. I well remember how it felt to be entering an entirely new dimension in diving.....I was pumped each and every day! Dude! You are going to DIG IT!!!!

I wish that it were that easy! Maybe we could call them "biologically natural CCRs"!

Best regards to you all!

Almost there! I get to Seattle on Sunday at noon to start my rebreather course With Mel. I'm sure she's going to work me over on the skills and drills but I'm looking forward to it!

Rawlings- You'll have to stop and say hi or talk Mel into having you tag along and laugh at me! learning to dive all over again!

We'll probably be in the pool during the Superbowl. I'm not sure if that would be legal had the Seahawks made it to the bowl!

3 more days!

Cool, Dave!

I'm excited for you! I remember my CCR class well. You'll feel like an absolute UNCOORDINATED MORON for the first couple of dives and then, suddenly, without even really thinking about it, you'll get used to the different buoyancy characteristics and things will work.

Hopefully we can link up - I'm working all week, but maybe I can swing by.

The Super Bowl? I could care less about it! I was diving on Super Bowl Sunday last year....didn't even know that the Hawks had lost until the next morning when I turned on the news on my way to work. It's all about priorities....for me diving trumps football (and basketball, and baseball, and all the other sports) every single day of the year! But then....I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to diving! :salute:
