Just heard from a buddy in Nanaimo that the MV Shawn Tanis, the Diver's Choice boat, caught fire today- Ken was aboard, and made it off safely, but the boat is a total loss.

That is really bad news. Ken runs a good operation.

holy shit, that SUCKS. Penelope and i dived with him last summer, and he was great, and that boat was too.

i hope he gets back up and running soon.

Wow....what a terrible blow! I'm glad that Ken was able to make it off safely, but this is such a huge loss for him! I hope that he's able to get back on his feet soon.

OMG ... glad he's OK, big loss for everyone. That was the best charter up there, to my concern.

Hope Ken can get a good insurance settlement and find another boat.

Oh, I so feel for Ken, and I hope he had good insurance.

I'm glad to hear Ken made it off the boat, but I'm so sad to hear that it's gone. I hope that he gets another boat and gets started up again, he runs a top-notch operation.

Oh, man. Just dove off that boat a couple of weeks ago too. Great boat, hope Ken can rebuild.

I have some great dive memories diving off that boat. Hugs to Ken!

What dive boat options do we have right now if we want to plan a trip early next year to Nanaimo ??
