Maybe... I was planning on doing some off roading with the dual sport thursday, but the weather wussies are worried about getting wet, and may cancel the ride.

Pretty much where ever for me as well. I've dove TTN, Les Davis, and redondo, where else in the south end can we go?

Fox Island East Wall? (Did West Wall).

I am only familiar with Redondo down south but open to anything also. I am hoping to lure bassman out for a dive.

What do you think? :dontknow:

I'm flexible on the time, but would like to be later than earlier.

I'm a maybe... depends if I go riding or not. Do you guys just suit up in the dark, or?

I have a small generator(super quiet) and halogen flood.

Is it considered bad form to bring a small flood and generator? I dont see well in the dark anymore, even with a street lamp.

It is a residential neighborhood. We are guests there and something like that would be in very poor taste.

that generator is dead quiet, 4 divers talking will be louder than it is. If it was some kinda generac construction gennie, I'd have to agree.

Meeting at 7 for two dives? Hmm...not sure I could make it exactly at 7, but I could probably swing that. Of course, that brings me back to the "problem" of having two empty tanks in my car, and no opportunity to fill them until long after the new year...

I'm turning into quite the night diver here :blackblink: :blackblink:

Why bother asking, if you're just going to ignore the answers people give you? I'm sure the responders don't personally care one way or the other, but what they do care about is about potentially upsetting sneering neighbors surrounding the tiny parking lot, who then may complain to others, who may cause problems for future use of that small access point. Noise travels much better in the dark. If you need additional light, buy a light that plugs into your vehicle.

I had a similar problem gearing up at places like Driftwood where there is 0 light. I got a magnetic base rechargeable led wand thingy from Harbor Freight for like 5 bucks. I can stick it to the side of the car in any position I want to make gearing up easier and to avoid draining my dive lights.

If you read the rest of the posts, you'd found my generator is less noise than we'll all make combined.
And yes, I own a db meter.

But later I'll have an inverter, so its a non issue

But thx for the suggestion on a light, as that gives me an idea to use my shop drop light on an inverter as I didn't really want to drag the baby generator anyways.

Thx!

One thing you might want to consider is that an inverter will drain a battery quite quickly. You might want to consider one of the rechargeable power sources like the one on this site.

There's plenty of light at the TTN parking area ... the little pump station across from the parking area is surrounded by halogen lights which are quite adequate for anyone gearing up at night. Otherwise, a small LED lantern runs about $30 at someplace like WalMart and provides all the light you'll need for gearing up pretty much anywhere.

I don't know if it's still the case, but the renters in the house next to the parking area were very anti-diver not all that long ago. Don't know if they're still there, but I see no reason to give them anything to complain about ... and those of us who have had to deal with Mr. Angry over at DIW understand that when someone is looking for a reason to complain it's very easy for them to find one.

Let's be as quiet and respectful as possible whenever diving any of these residential-access dive sites ... particularly in the evening. We want to be good neighbors ... sometimes that will mean being somewhat more than "reasonable" ...

thx Dusty, already thought about that one. Those HF units are only around 17 AH. I was gonna bring a seperate car battery (appx 75ah I think). Just need to get to Radio Shack for a female Plug. I already have a couple of small inverters.

You DO NOT NEED any of that crap just to gear up at Three Tree.
I honestly don't see a need for any light at all while gearing up. It's not rocket science.........
