Octo Hole and Jorstad Creek 4/28

Just FYI, viz at Jorstad on Wednesday was between 1' and maybe 8' at best. Shallow was a lot better than deep. Could be better or worse now.

Who knows, up north at Rosies 0-20ft was 0.0 viz, but 120ft was great, Janet McIntosh said last tuesday viz was good at Sund, so its a crap shoot.

At Octopus hole can at least get deep enough to get under it.

Thats why I'm kinda leery of Jorstad, because its not a deep dive.

Jorstad has a deep wall that hits 90 or so - I am not an expert on the site, have one dive there, but was on the deep wall first the finished the dive on the shallow wall.

Jorstad being where it is I would assume it will not be good with all this rain. I understand it can get real silty when the creek is flowing

I'm not real hip with the downhill climb either, but its not my dive, I'd rather just do Sund or Octo Hole.

I have only been on two of them, I hear that there are 3, and perhaps more below recreational depths. Stop in and talk to Ron at Hoodsportndive and he can tell you better than I.

2 Divemasters from our shop dive Jorstad all the time. So far, they have found 9 "structures." Mostly walls. I saw 4 walls on my dives there this week. The deepest is deeper than 80.' The shallowest was at about 35'. On Wednesday, the viz was much better in the shallows than deep. The deeper you went, the more crap in the water.

Not much, it was pretty sparse on both Jorsted and Octo Hole.

Viz overall wasnt bad, not great, but dive-able, not like when we dropped last weekend at Rosies with 0.0 viz @20fsw.

Overall a couple of fun dives. The walk down to Jorsted wasn't so bad, but coming back up made me glad I work out.

There should have been the wall at Jorsted . That wall goes down from 85-120 or so. The wall at Jorsted is the feature part of the dive, especially the rocks right a long the type which is where you're most likely to find octos/wolfies.

We must not have found that wall. The deepest we went the other day was 78'. But we did see 4 walls. We'll get out to that one another time.
