Hood Canal Pinnacle Dive on Saturday, May 19th
Dove with Don Brewer on his boat to Pinnacle yesterday. Viz was amazing for the first 25 feet - you could see the top of the pinnacle from the surface. From 35 to 45 feet - viz was crud at about 5 to 10 feet (10 feet being too generous); from 50 feet - about ten feet and then viz opened up more at about 70 feet. Saw some fantasticly large ling cods! And - some great examples of large and vividly colored vermillion rock fish! Lots of fish - just wish we had a bit more viz to see even more. Thanks to Don for being a great dive buddy for the day - and going out his way to pick me up on his boat! The water was as calm as could be - and we had a great time.

Yea, some of those Ling's around there are huge, aren't they!

- I got a good squirt in my mouth
- I would imagine that there would be a large amount of involuntary gagging
- I don't know about you but I'm not into swallowing it

I dove there yesterday with Pacific Adventures. Great dive.

Kathryn Arant and I did that dive off Don Coleman's boat a few weeks ago. There are so many big lings that you wonder how any other fish even survive there!
