What makes this better than the Predator?

Oh, good.
Thanks for the heads up. Now we have enough time to get the sizing right for spatman's stripper outfit.
You like red or green?
...I like going to the chamber.. They have great food there, and awsome live music "H20doctor"

It's hopeless. He's a yo yo dieter. That's why we always get him super stretchy spandex stuff.

Size- the screen is 2.5". It looks to be similar in size to an X-1.
Price- it's about $1,000 for a CC/OC trimix computer.
Batteries- you can use any old AA, instead of the PITA lithiums. (Me likey very much)
Big difference is that it has no fischer connector for real time cell monitoring, it's a stand-alone. I recently started diving my Meg/ Predator this way, actually. I managed to screw up the fischer connector just before a big dive, and instead of fixing it, I just disconnected the wire, capped off the connections, and set the computer for stand alone. It works fine on a eCCR- not sure how comfortable I would have been with this on mCCR.

I've given up on the stripper outfit and have decided to stick to the chicken costume instead.

Did it clean up ok after that incident at burning man last year with the shaving cream and those hairy Latvian jugglers?

I couldn't get the bloodstains completely out, but the crotch sewed up nicely.

A few more bloodstains shouldn't make any difference one way or the other.

I'm thinking about selling my Predator to buy one of these. Anyone interested?

Thanks Josh ... I almost pulled the trigger on a Predator yesterday ... now I think I'll wait a while and perhaps get one of these instead.

I should have one hopefully next week. I'll take UW comparison shots and post.

I'm told (by folks diving them this week) that they are as easy to read / bright as the OLED Predator screen.

Look forward to slapping them both on the same arm and comparing.

For those looking for a comparison spec sheet, here it is: http://www.shearwaterresearch.com/wp-co ... edator.pdf

There is a new option that might make you reconsider the stripper outfit. I know it has been inconvenient not having a pole at dive sites but now that problem has been solved. Image

LOL... might be something to add to your Save-A-Dive kit.

There really is no end to acquiring dive gear. I'd better start saving.

I just got my first shipment of Shearwater Petrels.

They are even more gorgeous in person! I was really surprised at how much smaller they are than I thought (even having seen the photos online). Lighter too. The screen is VERY clear.

Can't wait to dive one of them!

I'll post GoPro video when I get it in the water.

I posted a few quick comparison photos with my Predator and Xen.

I'm confused.

Are we talking a Petrel or a tailgate stripper pole?
