I know there is lots of information on lots of dive sites around for sound area but nothing for the inland stuff. I figured I would start a site and try to get some good information up for us inlanders.

I have been working on it like crazy and have lots to add, http://scubadivesites.webs.com/ I only have full details up for 2 sites but please look around. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

I see you have Idaho listed but not Oregon. Any chance that will be changing in the future? Thanks.

Is this going to be different from the perfect dive site now?

If I ever dive there or if someone wants to contribute detailed pic and information about the sites. What is up for sites is what I have dove, have pictures and good directions for.

One thing that is missing from most sites is a lack of directions and pictures to the sites. When we showed up to Bayview we had no idea exactly where to go. Now anyone who wants to dive it should be able to easily find it.

All to often we see pics of whats at the sites, just not how to get there.

ETA: There is an OR section now. I have just been working on stuff I have first hand.

I am not sure what you are talking about so I can not comment. If you are saying this information is available elsewhere I would like to see it.

www.theperfectdive.com/DEF-SearchSite.asp - It does have freshwater sites, but for its PNW section you only get 4 sites, none of which I'd consider "inland"...

Aaaahhhh makes much more sense.

So YES is it going to be different then that site in a few ways. First it is going to mainly feature inland sites that are lesser known. As it was said I see no inland WA sites, only a couple OR sites and NO ID sites at all. Sure I will post up sections for ANY site I dive because there there is no reason not to.

Another big difference is that I am posting pics of the site above water and the actual entry points. The other sites I have seen usually have decent written directions but not pics. As an example we had decent "verbal" directions when we went to Bayview. I was not sure I was in the right spot until I sent a text pic to the person that gave me the directions. Now with what I posted on my site you can see the dive site, and the entry points along with a description.

Again if there is anything I can do to make my site better I would like to know.

We'd catalogue inland site information here if you wanted to post it.

This is Chris from http://www.theperfectdive.com.

It seems like Nwcid's site is focused specifically on Inland sites.

There is an inland region that can be selected from the drop down under the logo in the upper left of The Perfect Dive web site but we have only one site posted by a user thus far and we have not activly gone to dive and report on Inland sites.

When designing the site we decided to group dive sites by regions to aid in searching and community development. There is a Pacific Northwest region and an Inland region as well as several others. The division between Inland and Pacific Northwest is a grey area on The Perfect Dive. Examples include Lake Crescent and Clear Lake. Both are listed under Pacific Northwest but could by some definitions be considered Inland.

We do have one site (Ririe Reservoir) listed in the Inland region. It is in Idaho and could also be considered Pacific Northwest.

I think the idea of posting surface photos of the entry site is a great thing to do. We have done that with a number of sites but not all the divers posting sites or uploading photos have thought about the surface shots as such an important part of the site.

Keep up the good work. The more information online the better in my opinion.

Thanks,

Chris thanks for your comments. I did not realize that was your site. I just picked the one site I knew of to link on the Western WA link but I will add yours also.

While I am mainly focused on inland stuff I plan on posting any site I dive. Basically no reason not to.

As for format I am trying to do by state, by "lake", by dive site.
