The old Washington Divers dive club?

Post by McGlencoe »

Anybody on this board been around long enough to remember (or maybe even belonged to) the old Washington Divers dive club?

It was a club ran out of Bob Ballinger's Washington Divers dive shop.

Just curious as my dad was NAUI cert'd through that shop and was a member of the club for many years (back in the 70s).

The shop owner/instructor was Bob Barringer. The shop was on Aurora at about N85th.
I was an active club member in the early 70's

So McGlencoe turned out to be Tim the son of my dive buddy, Dallas, from the early 70's. Tim and I got together for a couple of dives this weekend and reminisced about the old days when Dallas and I did a lot of crazy things in the water. It brought back many fond and humorous memories.

I had a great time diving with you Dan; thanks for the invite.

We did the Murphy in all it's 5' viz glory and then moved on to the KVI Tower dive site.... now that was one for the books, had to pull myself down the descent line, but once down around 50' and deeper, it was incredible.....easily 35-40' viz, fish everywhere and just plain awesome. My most memorable dive so far!
