Congrats to our own Lostinbownsmad ( Jay )

Post by sparky »

It was my grate honor today to attend the retirement of my Dive Buddy and best friend Jay Murphy. After 29 yers of service in the United States Coast Guard at the rank of CWO4 Chief Warrant Officer 4

It was a informal affair and even a little light hearted yet very well done to , I thought it was a fitting tribute to a fine career after a few funny stories and a couple tales of Jays creative way and some times funny way of dealing with a problem

Jay was awarded a medial for his achievements while in service
It was more then apparent that he would be truly missed

And I was so impressed at how the young men all made it a point of coming up and shaking Jays hand and thanking him for being such a good teacher and mentor to them

I have to admit I think I was more choked up then Jay

here are a few pictures I took from today

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my great pleasure to present

Congratulations Jay, and thank you for your service! May your diving increase in your "retirement"! (I put retirement in quotes because my guess is you'll still be pretty busy!)
