Slender Cockscomb

John Rawlings found and was shooting pics of this little guy. When he was finished I moved in and took a pic or two, though I could not for the life of me tell what I was shooting. I thought it was a small warbonnett at first, then a gunnel. After looking through a couple of books it seems to be a Slender Cockscomb, Anoplarchus insignis.

The give away for me seems to be the "fleshy crest on the head", and the "pale bands on lower lip and under jaw", both according to Paul Humann in his Coastal Fish ID.

Yep ... slender cockscomb. Was that on Muk wall? I noticed a few of them when we were out there ...

No, it was at the T-Dock site, to the north.
