How did you get that photo of the Red Brotula??!!!??? Very nice! I've only seen them holed up, never out in the open. Cool!

Me too! I had just gotten down to depth at Les and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. That was my first dive with my camera and I was so nervous about getting the shot. I had seen that guy numerous times there but, as you said, always way back in a hole. When I showed that pic to Shawn he said that was the "holy grail" of pictures. He'd never seen one out in the open either.

I saw my first one out in the open at Lobster Shop Wall last week-end ... it was attacking a medium-sized red octopus that had gotten a bit too close to its den ... successfully, I might add. The octopus beat a hasty retreat ...
