I'm getting so excited about my CCR, but it's still months away. Would you rebreather divers mind posting a few photos of your rigs, so I can oogle in the meantime?

Hi, Calvin!
Ah.....the pain of WAITING!
I have very few shots of me diving my KISS Classic CCR because I'm usually the one with the camera! However, here's a shot that Mel Clark took of me shortly after I finished my training a couple of years back. The shot was taken near the surface at Mukilteo:
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1182/841 ... 95ec94.jpg" width="500" height="365" alt="P1017359"></a>
Here's a shot of my buddy, Jerome Ryan, at depth with his Inspiration CCR...somewhere around 200 FSW. It was taken about 5 - 6 years ago when I was shooting film. I was diving a HUGE set of doubles at the time, and we were diving off the Edmonds Oil Dock:

And to wrap things up, here's a shot of Leon Scamahorn, creator of the Megalodon CCR, also from YEARS back, wearing a very early Meg. This shot was taken by Curt Bowen when he was up here diving with me, and he took it in anticipation of an ADM article about the Megalodon. We were diving at Sunrise:

How does THAT work to help build your excitement????

I think my head is going to explode from the waiting! At least Christmas will be a month early at casa de Nailer this year!

Yes they are. They are a little more delicate but a much lower profile.Calvin wrote:Excitement definitely building!
Are those neoprene counterlungs on Leon's Meg? I've been going back and forth over whether or not to get those or the standard ones. I've heard that the neoprene ones don't hold up to use very well.
I'd love to post a pic but the only person who has a picture of me and my KISS is Curt!
It's in pieces right now maybe I'll get a chance to use it again this weekend and can get you a picture then.
BTW, I dove the Princess Kathleen last weekend with my OC buddy. Me the rebreather and my bailout (a 40). Him, double 95's an 80 and a 40.
He got really pissed at 15' when I was clear to go up and he still had 13 minutes to hang. I think it had something to do with being able to hear me laughing at him!! (I stayed with him just for moral support)
He came up freezing! I had another laugh because I was actually thinking about how warm I was the entire dive.
BTW, Nailer I think I have my Buddy squared away to take that class with you guys.

Dave, I can't wait to be teasing my OC buddies with their zillion tanks during their deco stops, though I can't promise I'll be as nice and wait in 15' of water.
Curt, I really like the idea of the neoprene counterlungs, but have heard stories of a hundred little pinprick sized holes making tiny little bubbles after using them for a year or two. I wish they could make them out of CF200 material.

Curt, our dive was great! I'm excited for you guys to come up!
Originally we intended to do the Princess Sophia but the fog was pea soup. So we went with the alternate and hit the Princess Kathleen instead. It was dark but the vis was pretty good. Spent some time inside the wreck, but my buddy wasn't all the keen on dragging all those tanks inside so we kept the penetration to larger more open area's. Spent a ton of time down at the stern around the aft steering wheels and the fantail.
It's really rough having 2 world class wrecks within 15 miles (by boat) of each other. On a good day we've hit the Sophia in the morning and the Kathleen in the afternoon!
Calvin, You have to be careful with those OC guys, they tend get a little fragile. I probably would too if I was freezing my a$$ off and still had the lifetime of a small child to deco! Rebreather Envy combined with Hypothermia tend to do funny things to a person .
Get with Mel on the counterlungs. She knows all the ins and outs and can help you decide which ones you want. I probably have an old pair of CF200 boots from a defunct suit you could send to Leon. Maybe he'll make you a set of lungs from them. Never mind the smelly feet taste...

Couldn't hear you. I was finishing up my mashed carrots and strained yams, sitting here in a very tall plastic chair. Waiting to be burped.John Rawlings wrote:Now THAT is one GREAT line!!!!Dmitchell wrote:......and still had the lifetime of a small child to deco!

There is a CCR there, those are just bail-out bottles. I'm a firm believer in redundancy.Calvin wrote:boydski, those are some sic sic sic photos!
SOG (can I call you that?), I'm going the CCR route so that I *don't* end up with that many tanks on me. Just two of em started throwing out my back!
I think I am becoming a total (rebreather) porn addict.
Call me whatever you like, except late for supper.

Yeah.....looks like enough bail out for your average 8-900 fsw dive! I'm starting to like you!

Man- OK, this wasn't easy to find, but here you go, Calvin!
I guess CCRs really DO enable one to approach exotic marine life much closer than OC!

If you bring me one of those once you get your COPIS, you'd permanently be my best dive buddy ever!
One more for ya!
