Nudibranch ID Assistance

Post by Scubie Doo » Tue May 05, 2020 10:08 pm

Hello all, Can someone help me with a Nudibranch ID? At first glance, I thought this was common. However, I looked back through my photos and in several books and couldn't find anything to match.

Also, spotted this at three tree north at about 20’ in depth.

It looks like it could possibly be a British Columbia Aeolid?

Awesome find! I’m guessing based on the hydroid that it was quite small.

I think your right. That’s what an expert mentioned late last night in an email to me. Also called a Catriona columbiana. And it was very small. I’ve probably seen one before, but did not recognize it as something different.

Very nice photos! I tend towards the B.C.Aeolid. Your are so much better shots than I managed in Deception Pass. Good job.
