Hi
ScubaJess and I and several friends have been making runs out to the Strait of Juan De Fuca lately. It's been a lot of fun exploring and learning, and we had some incredible luck with findings of Rock Greenlings (super elusive) and Gooseneck Barnacles! And I hope you guys all saw h2odoc's awesome video from Sekiu with the incredible swimming birds! (viewtopic.php?f=14&t=28196&p=296958&hilit=sekiu#p296925)
Here are some recent photos:
To complete the picture of what diving is like out there, here are some older pics from the site If you do ever head out there, be super careful. Diving in waves can be dangerous. Viz is bad when there's waves anyway. Have a plan b dive in mind (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25130). Scubie Doo pointed us to the surf report at magicseaweed.com, which has been very useful for planning. It can get super wavy out there even when there's no wind. It's best to go on a 1-star surf day, of which there's not a lot of this time of year.
Have a great weekend!
