Temp Drysuit

Hello fellow divers,

Well I have two dry suits in for repairs at two separate places. Looks like a 6-8 week turnaround, which sucks. Anyway, I need to come up with a plan B. Does anyone know a good place to rent dry suits or will I be relegated to renting a wetsuit? I know it’s a dumb question, but I’ve never been without a Drysuit for more than a few weeks.

Thanks
Jesse

8 Diving rents Santi drysuits. I think it is $100/day -- I don't know if they will do a discount for longer term rental.

https://8diving.com/ in Des Moines rents very nice Santi suits. You can even rent one and get set up with dry gloves ($6 to buy the stretchy gloves to fit over the rings).

Awesome! Thank you. For $100 though, may bite the bullet and get a third Drysuit. That’s only 10-15 dives :)

Check Lighthouse. I rented a suit for a week back in the day when mine was out for repairs. Best price I could find.

Hi Jesse, sorry to hear about your drysuit woes!

If you decide to get a new suit, consider calling around to different dive shops and see if any of them have your size in stock. That will save you further aggravation as supply chains are real slow right now. Several buddies had to wait many months for a new suit to arrive after they ordered.

I'm wondering if cheap drysuits are the way to go, as I'm not sure a $3500 drysuit lasts longer than a 1500 drysuit. And drysuits don't seem to last as long these days.

I have a backup drysuit I could loan for a while. Waterproof D1 Hybrid - Size Large. Size chart specifies 5'10 - 5'11. Boot size 10.

I think you might be a little shorter than that, but perhaps it would still work. Let me know if you want to try.

Thanks DLH. I got a suit, but I really appreciate the offer.
