Need A Friend 9-15-07

Post by Fishstiq »

Anyone diving this saturday the 15th and need a little company? I'm up in the Everett area, but will travel, and my usual buddy has abandoned me to go golfing for the weekend. I'd like to do a couple dives, so if anyone is interested please let me know. Thanx!!

Whidbey Dive Center has Diver Evening Picnic at Rosario Beach on Fidalgo Island (near the Deception Pass) on Saturday 15th at 3 PM. Bring your own entree to barbecue and a side for pot luck. They supply the charcoal, barbecue pit, sodas and water. ( I quote a newsletter).

Hmm, hey fishtiq! I might be able to meet for a dive Sat evening. My usual dive buddy is planning to cheat on me with some other divers so he's cut off for awhile! Let me know.

Pez.

P.S. For everyone else, I have a rare opportunity to dive this sunday the 16th too and i'm sure my "regular buddy" wont be available. Anyone want to dive on Sunday, let me know!

I just hate it when you catch your dive buddy cheating on you.

Hey wait, that was me who got caught cheating on my dive buddy earlier this year.

In fact, I cheated with a different new buddy for like 4 days in a row. But don't tell. I think the regular dive buddy only knew about one of them, at least, that is all I will ever admit to.

If anybody is planning to attend, please drop a line to the club at psdepthchargers@yahoo.com. We are trying to get a head count for parking, carpooling, etc. since space is an issue at Sund Rock...oh, and we need a head count for post-dive grub!

THANKS!

Couple things... 1. everything I see when I google sund rock says beach access fees. Huh? Any info on this would be great, or if anyone has a link or anything. 2. it's not cheating if it's on the internet. 3. Yes Pez, your dive buddy will be available on sunday if he is invited.... don't you feel like an @$$. [-X 4. post dive grub? what would it be appropriate for a person to bring to contribute?

There are no fees.....IF you park on the side of the road and walk for 20 seconds down to the beach. From the beach entry it's a 50-60 yard surface swim right to the rock.

you get the parking permit from the dive shop on the way. (info here) it's a small parking lot with a port-a-potty.

they used to offer a "northwest dive club" discount - not sure if that's still valid or not, though ...

Normal fees are around $15.00 + Tax. / day.
If you say you are with nwdiveclub, Ron
{Owner of the Hoodsport-N-Dive},
will give you the $12.00 + Tax wich = $13.00.

I imagine he does the same for the Depthchargers club too.

Sund Rock is privately owned Property. Mr Sund {The House you see as you drive down} checks the cars on a regular basis for the parking tags.

He is a nice guy who offers up his property to divers to experience some of the best diving at Hood Canal.

I just wish I could score a piece of property like that!

I have no problem paying the $13.00 for a couple of great dives there!

Three instructors and their students are on board a dive boat in the middle of the ocean— there's a NAUI instructor, a PADI instructor, and an SSI instructor. Everything is going fine, until the boat springs a leak, and starts to sink.
The SSI instructor says to his students, "Okay... we're in the middle of the ocean, so we might as well do our deep dive."
The NAUI instructor says to his students, "Okay... we might as well do our navigation dive, so let's get our compasses out and swim towards shore."
The PADI instructor says to his students, "Okay... for $25 extra you guys get to do a wreck dive!" :evil4:
