Aloha Divers!!!!!
Happy Crazy Hot Saturday!!!
Yellow Eye and I just returned from an epic dive trip to Maui!!!! 🏖We met up with our awesome friend Nirupam and his wife and got to dive dive dive!!!! It was amazing!!!!!

Day 1: 2 dives at Makena Beach, epic viz and saw so many turtles!!! It was so much fun and I felt like a total noob diving in a wetsuit... it took me a bit to figure out warm water diving!!!

Day 2: we did 3 dives at Mala Wharf.... it was freaking awesome!!!!! Sooooo many turtles. A cleaning station, A frog fish. White tipped reef sharks , an eagle ray flyby, a snow flake moray eel, spotted Boxfish, freaky cool tropical fish! Epic viz!!!

Day 3: 2 Shore dives at Ulua Beach with local dive legend Mike Rineer !!! He found us all the good stuff!!!! Super cute baby frogfish, a big fat frogfish, butterfly fish , flying gurnard fish, white spotted pufferfish, eagle ray, harlequin shrimp, zebra moray eel, green lion fish, several leafy scorpion fish, one with mesmerizing eyes !!! Nudies, Christmas tree worms, a pack of goat fish, really nice coral, a couple octos on the move, Baby humuhumus!!!! Turtles!!!

Day 4: 2 dives on Mike Severen's dive boat, 5:45am meet at boat Molokini Crater with 100+foot viz and some ship wreck and tire reef. We saw butterflyfish attack some Hawaiian sergeant egg nests, a racoon fish , wrasse cleaner fish, fire coral with gobies, garden eels! Had so much fun on the boat they gave us yummy snacks and fun dive tales!!! Pauline was so nice! check her website www.seaslugsofhawaii.com

Day 5: Yellow Eye did 2 hammerhead shark boat dives with Lahaina Divers.... he saw a school of hammerhead at 40 feet... my ear hurt so I couldn't go...

Overall was a fantastic trip!!!! We had soooooo much delicious food!!! And perfect weather, beautiful sunsets, non stop flight. It was just easy and relaxing. I highly recommend it... also I didn't get sunburned which is pretty amazing lol I can't wait to go back!!!!

Piska ceviche food truck (we went 4 days in a row the vegan ceviche was soooo tasty and had popcorn on it, the owner is from Ecuador, a super nice guy)

I thought all my trips to Hawaii were wonderful, but your pictures make mine look pale. Jess, my first dives in Hawaii (1965) were in swim trunks - no wetsuit. Still a vivid memory. Eric, I have never seen hammerheads (the fish, I mean, I have a lot of experience with the tool), but you are right, any view is cool. Mahalo nui loa.
