Citizen Science River Dive Opportunity - Mouth of the Stillaguamish (Skagit)

Field Research Project in Skagit - Stillaguamish RIver

Required: Certified divers with river experience and interest in working with and supporting archeologists and Tribal members. Goal is to help develop methods for systematic survey of river bottom environments. Tasks include but not limited to looking for fish weirs and at old levee rubble along the mouth of the Stillaguamish. Timeline for cit sci work is through mid-December.

I hope you are taking advantage of the recent advances in sonar technology. The sidescan sonar units today will show you just about any rock bigger than a football in waters less than 10-15’. Might be a useful tool for surveys?
