This was taken many moons ago with a lowly Aquashot, but it's still my favorite:
It was also my first and so far only published picture:

Thanks. Truth be known, I rather miss the Aquashot. It was an inexpensive way to get into underwater photo, and I was having more fun and taking more pictures with it than when I upgraded to a more "professional" camera. It's too bad Ikelite had to discontinue it, reportedly because they got tired of Kodak and Fuji always changing the dimensions of the disposable cameras.

Nice pics Sparky .... I especially like the first shot.
Besides the ones I'm sure you're all tired of looking at, here's some that I particularly like ...

Kaia those are fantastic! I especially like the skeleton shrimp ... for such a tiny critter the level of detail you captured is amazing.

hey sparky, how did you light this shot? it looks like the light source is below the critter...

thats what I would like to know just what I did it was shallow and bright out but the back round is in darkness
and yes the Flash is mounted below the camara
now that you know my secrete I will have to kill you
you see i some how managed to brake the plastic plate that the strobe and the amara mount to right under the flash so I had to mount the Flash on the under side t keep useing it I think I like it better this way so when I make the new braket I am going to mount the flash under the camara

I learned that trick a while ago ... sometimes you can change the whole look of a picture simply by turning the camera upside down, changing the angle of the lighting.

i sort of learned about using lighting from below by accident when i was using my backup light to get the camera to focus better during a night dive. it was warm water - i find my backup light works amazing there and doesn't look like ... well, a flashlight shining on the subject. i've never gotten the cool eerie look like sparky got, though! i might have to give that a try some time around here - it does look neat.

I'm not smart enough to post pictures in the forums here, but I have a link to some of my photos.... if y'all feel like taking the time to click on it, i'd appreciate any feedback you have. There are 3 photo albums on the site, so check out whatever you have time for. I cropped some of the photos, but none of them are photoshopped at all or modified.

Thanks again for any input!

hiya fishstiq
if you go to your photo album page and select an image, you'll see a link in the lower right that says "share". click that and copy the code in the "embed" field. then just past it into your post:
