Here's a few of my pics from that day, crossposted on the trip reports section.

Thursday Pics are here.

We dropped on this little Red Octopus hiding in the engine block at the bottom of the buoy line.

I found this bright little Mosshead Warbonnet. I don't usually see many of them here.... Cove 2 seems to be more Warbonnet city.
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2108/178 ... f33f91.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0176"></a>

This Slender Cockscomb was a fun "accidental" find, and was a real treat sitting on his little shell. I touched part of the vertical "junk" at the site and it just fell over. I didn't intend to do it, honest! And there he was, sitting in this shell. I know I'd have never seen him if the structure hadn't fallen over.
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/178 ... f8602a.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0183, cropped"></a>

This fat Penpoint Gunnel was hiding in a cinder block.
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2364/178 ... 4436e0.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0186"></a>

I noticed more juvenile Painted Greenlings than I have ever seen on a dive. It's cool to look at their face and see how they are less elongated than their more mature kin.
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2344/178 ... ddcb18.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0204"></a>
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2254/178 ... 2427f0.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0201"></a>

This Lion's (or Hooded) Nudibranch was a real treat. I haven't seen these guys very often. I saw him "swimming" in the water column, and followed him until he "landed".
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2371/178 ... e5c8c2.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0242"></a>
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2060/178 ... d17e7d.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0234"></a>

We were "buzzed" by a Kelp Greenling on this dive protecting it's eggs. I've seen several large Kelp Greenlings here (particularly on the tire piles) that never let me get close to them.
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2074/178 ... b2c559.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="CIMG0244"></a>

This Red Rock Crab was NOT in a sharing mood!
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2396/178 ... a06b42.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="CIMG0251"></a>

And last, but not least, the ubiquitous Alabaster Nudis, AKA Whitelined Dironas were everywhere!
<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2219/178 ... 73050d.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0281"></a>

<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2132/178 ... bbed66.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="CIMG0279"></a>

Great dives, great conditions, great dive buds, great critters, great time! \:D/ :rr: :supz:

No kidding!! All I did today was study for Monday's exam and pack for next weekend's big move. The closest I got to diving was packing the rest of my gear! :-({|= I've never wished for empty tanks until today... they're SO much lighter when they're not full!! #-o

So Tommy, about those kelping eggs; I ran across a ton of those last week at Kayak Point (in about 12 FSW) and they looked and felt exactly like styrafoam (albeit metallic in color). Is that what they were? We saw a couple of "balls" about the size of a basketball down in the bottom of some old, forgotton commercial crabpots.

Tommy's two cents? :salute: :bounce:

The eggs I saw were Kelp Greenling eggs.

Well, I wouldn't call it fondling! I could have sworn it was metallic styrafoam. #-o
