Burrow's Pass Today

Post by kirbycook »

Had a great dive today at Burrow's Pass with SethT... timed the currents just right to drift from the entry to almost Fidalgo head... and back to the entry again with very little swimming. \:D/ Had a little bit of everything: big wall, kelp, current, nudibranchs, lingcod, Kelp Greenlings, cabazon and good sized GPO on the way back in.

If you've never done this dive... it's a great site!

A wicked dive! This is possibly my favorite NW dive site. Perfect timing of the current is crucial and we hit it perfectly, thanks to Kirby! :salute: The wall starts at 35 FSW and heads down to 85 FSW. It is covered with life and has numerous coves, outcroppings and crevices.

I saw my first butterfly crab! Quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen. \:D/ There is a very impressive kelp forest that is beautiful and quite an entanglement hazard. Be careful. :book:

This site is high on our list and we'll be doing it much more frequently! :partyman:

How about a detailed Dive site report in the appropriate section?

Unless you've already done so! :salute:

Yes, one is there. There's lots of stuff that I'd like to add though.

I added a few more comments to the dive site forum for this site since the the currents at Burrows are such an issue...
