flying octo ...

Post by Grateful Diver »

Did a dive with Chris (cdpez), Penelope (penopolypants) and Joe (fishstiq) at Day Island Wall this evening.

Caught this little fellow as he launched himself off the wall and was heading for the bottom.

Got a few more nice shots, but won't have time to do a show till tomorrow or Monday ... gotta early departure for Hood Canal in the morning ...

It was as if he commited OCTOCIDE! I learned early on that they won't do that if you dont shine your light on them or get too close. #-o It was fun falling the 20 or so feet watching Bob try to capture that shot. This was all I managed to get once he hit the deck.....

15-20 below the halocline. The halocline was at between 5 and 10 feet ... with a very sharp separation ... it was like dropping beneath an oily blanket ...
