If you wanna see diving in Finland during winter, I found one site that has a few fresh pics how it is like back there, enjoy. :)
These pics are from the coast and it doesn't look like the puget sound to me ;)

Here is another site having pics from a very nice wreck and a very popular "cave" site, an old mine.

More stuff from Funland. These pics are from my diving clubs deep diver course, you can find even me in some of the pics ;) (pages 2 & 4)

Water temp is about 39-35f, depending on the site. The water temp doesn't change that much between summer and winter, in depths below 75ft it's allways 39f.
Air temp now is something around 5-14f, which is still ok for diving. :)

It is, tons of fun, on a nice sunny day the viz can be totally from a different world.

Right on man those are some really cool pics... I had seen a video on the ojama mine that was pretty cool!!!

In europe what psi do fill tanks to i here they pump them up alot more than they do here..

The typical types of steel tanks in terms of pressure are:

200 bar = 2 900.75475 pounds per square inch
232 bar = 3 364.87552 pounds per square inch
300 bar = 4 351.13213 pounds per square inch

The 200bar tanks are older type and can be filled as the 232bar ones.
Volumes are a bit more tricky to convert, since we use litres instead of cu ft and don't want to even try to do the math here. ;)

The 300bar tanks are usually used as single tanks, 232bar tanks are used in twinsets.

We also have aluminium tanks but they are mostly used as deco/stage and small argon tanks.

.Janne

ps. Oh, yeah, you need a DIN-connector in your reg to use a 300bar tank, yoke can't take it.

ok found this

1 pound/square inch [absolute] = 0.068 947 573 bar
for example
3 200 pound/square inch [absolute] = 220.632 232 96 bar
4 352 pound/square inch [absolute] = 300.059 836 826 bar

yeah id say its more over there...

Man, I thought I was getting burly by diving around here (I did my first 100 dives in tropical waters, temps in the 80's). I have noooooo desire to get frigid like that though. I guess the Finnish are just more hearty than I am.

Another fresh pic from one of my favourite sites back here. The holes on the right and the one just next to the staris are usually the ones that are open. It seems that someone has made a bigger one to the left, see the "cubes" pretty thick ice eh. :)
