Submerged buildings near White Pass/Morton?

I was just talking to someone who's interested in scuba, and she told me she had heard of some place where there are sunken buildings to dive near White Pass and Morton.

I was sure I would have heard of such a thing in our area, and I couldn't find any thing in a web search... Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I believe someone told me once that when Mayfield dam was put in there were people living near the mouth of winston creek. Just a guess though, I don't know if there is still anything there. Might be worth an exploratory trip.

We researched this as a possible summer dive. Turned out it is mostly foundations, and isn't in that deep of water-if you hunt around online you can find pictures of the foundations taken when the water levels were low.

Great info, thanks! Could be a fun trip to do once even if it's a lousy dive... local history and all.

That link has to do with the town of Moncton that was accidently flooded when the Cedar Creek dam was built. It's under Rattlesnake Lake near North Bend. I've explored it, don't waste your air.

There was another town that had a similar fate, except that it was purposely flooded when they built Mossyrock dam. Here is another thread where we talked about it. http://tinyurl.com/5xsvfh
