photos from local long island 8-10-08 rebreather charter

Post by Gill Envy »

thought you guys might like to see some photos from Long Island/South Lopez Island, San Juans WA... the stars aligned for beutiful viz, zero chop, full sun... an absolutely steller dive! Many thanks to 4ster/steve for putting this local rebreather only trip together. In steve's words:"Skipper Curt of the Naknek absolutely nailed the slack for this site, we had over an hour and a half to look at all the pretties." check out the site, http://www.naknekcharters.com/

this will go down as one of the most memorable dives I've done in the San Juans!
here's a Flickr set (had to lower the rez to get them up):

George,

How come most of the great dives I've done lately you have been sharing the same water?

Great shots, George!

I was sorry to have missed that trip, and I trust that Curt McNamee filled you in as to the reason I bailed.

It would have been good to have participated on an all-CCR trip, especially with the vis and the colors that your photos indicate was there. I'm glad that all of you had a great time!

This obviously isn't the Long Island in Willapa Harbor, right? Anyone dove Willapa? Its original name was Sholwater Bay. My impression is it's shallow and muddy, but they do grow great oysters there.
