This is a "diving" knife advertised as protection from sharks, http://www.waspknife.com/about.php. The handle apparently has a CO2 cartridge it it, and when triggered it injects a ball of gas into the animal and freezes the internal organs.
Let's see... [cynical] Only one shark ever attacks a person, right? So you'd never have to use it twice. And stabbing an animal in the water will obviously discourage other sharks from going into a feeding frenzy and eating you. Thank goodness! I feel safer already.[/cynical]

Knife for Killing Sharks
Re: Knife for Killing Sharks
hey now, it clearly states that the air bubble carries the shark to the surface before blood is released "Thus giving the diver added protection by diverting other potential predators to the surface."

I feel like a fish out of the water when I'm not diving.

Ha.
I'll let you test that theory first. When the bloody chunks of chum start raining down on you from the frozen/exploded/floating shark carcass, don't say I didn't warn you.
