GET OUT OF MY EAR, WATER!

Post by Norris »

So I can tell that there is a little water trapped in my ear from my last dive. I also understand this to be just asking for an ear infection. My ear doesn't hurt, I have done the "bob my head sideways like the dudes on Night at the Roxbury"

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to releasing the water from my inner ear? I already broke my drivers side window so I need to pursue some other suggestions.

This link was in the other thread, but a long way down. It's something I wrote about ears, because this question comes up for folks so often:

Early on, I did a few dives where I "forced myself down", and didn't equalize propperly- I had the annoying slosh-ear for days and days after those dives- I guess it's actually water from your own tissues forced out into the inner ear- and it doesn't go away until your body re-absorbs it. Really, really irritating. Also motivated me to learn how to equalize better.....

Never had SloshEar Norris but it sounds like it sucks.

I'm surprised to hear this doesn't work:

get the wax cleaned out of your ears for the future dives, wet ear wax has made my hearing non-existant for days or longer.
