Pepper ...

Post by Grateful Diver »

I took this shot this evening ... on my way back from yet another lumpie fest (oddly, I haven't even LOOKED at those pictures yet).

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this new photo setup ...

Nice, Bob! Exposure seems to be spot on.

Yeah, after Monday's dive I had some ideas about how I wanted to set the strobes and aperture ... and I came a lot closer tonight than I had to date.

Unfortunately, although I got much better exposures on my lumpie shots, tonight's little fellow was in a difficult place ... I just couldn't get the sort of background contrast that'd make an interesting shot.

So I guess I'll just have to go again tomorrow (oh ... darn ...) ... :boucegreen:

It looks like you're shooting at f-8 or tighter. The foreground and the subject were both very sharp......I REALLY want a strobe for my Casio......

I haven't seen her that far out since they brought her back. I assume that was taken with the wide port? Great shot! The colors are great and the depth of field is awesome. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

F 6.3, shutter speed at 1/100th, ISO 100, standard flat port

She wasn't out very far ... I had my camera fairly well jammed in, with the left strobe fairly close to the camera housing and the right strobe as far to the right as I could get it.

This was the best of about six shots I took at different settings and strobe positions.

Thanks Bob, For sharing the info. All I've been able to see of her lately is a part of a tentacle tucked way back under the boat. I was thinkin I might try tonight to get out to the bottle field but right now it looks like the winds are not going to be favorable.

I don't normally comment on pictures - I can't manage to take decent photos and have nothing to offer, so I shut up. This shot is something else though. I keep opening thread and staring at the pic - something about it entrances me each time I look at it. Thanks for sharing Bob.
