Nice report Dan :)

How much lead do you put on the "deco" carabiner?
What kind of strobe are you using? How far away is that visible? Does it mess with the video?

The deco station is attached to a 120' line. Strobe viz depends on viz in general, typically.

Thanks!
Just a few lbs. on the beener. Not sure what kind of strobe, it was Pauls (maybe OMS??). We had about 30 + or - ft of vis to see the strobe. The only thing that can mess up the vid is usually me. :computersmash:

Great dive!

Cool thanks

So do you have a fairly long stop at 120' for this dive? Does it allow both buddy teams to get on the same albit probably leapfroggy schedule? (well in that the first pair is probably still there when the second arrives) Or do you always rely on the safety diver to unclip the deco line?

Not really. The last team leaving the wreck takes their strobe, if no other strobe is there (since each team hangs one), they know they are the last team up, and they release the deco station.

Unless someone gets confused and sends the safety diver down to do it!

Great report Dan. I absolutely agree with you, the dive to the Sampson is well worth the long deco. I'm sure looking forward to diving it again in September!

Nice work Dan on the Video, and Josh on the narration.

So how come we haven't heard from Sounder yet about how easy the X1 is to read on video at 306'? (I'm reading that right aren't I?)

Wonderful report, the video was well worth the download time.

Thanks for telling such a great story about a dive that most of us will never do but all of us love reading about!

I think so, but I'm blind.
I ABSOLUTELY loved that computer! Small, easy to read, easy to use. Sounder may have a tough time getting it back. :boxer:

Poor Josh, he was so stage frightened. I tried to feed him more beer to calm his nerves.

Although, the more times I listen to it, the more I like it.

it's really not bad at all. a little more excitement and interest in the material and he's pretty much there.
