I sense a theme going here....

Coincidence or not? You be the judge....

- Lately in another thread, I asked about Anti Virus protection for my PC. One of the AV software products recommended was AVAST! I loaded this onto my PC and laptop.

- Saturday I gave a talk at the MaST at Redondo.

- While driving home on the freeway, outside of Kalama, WA where you get a good glimpse of the Columbia River - we saw THIS sight....

As you can see, these ships had both masts AND the AVAST! theme going on...

We whipped off the freeway at the next exit - flipped a U-ey on the nearest side road, and blasted over a gazillion RR crossings to get to a place where I could take some pics of these magnificent ships. Then, hop back in the blubaru, and zip downriver some more, to get more photo ops. They even started a cannon fire war!

After getting home, we found some more info - these two ships will be running trips out of Vancouver next week, and I got tickets for us to go next weekend on their THREE HOUR TOUR (watch out, Gilligan) called the "Battle Tour". Sweet!

They are usually up in Port Townsend for the wooden boat festival each year. A really cool site. Also in case you didn't know the lady Washington is also the Black pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean. So step lively there mates or ye might just be walkin the plank! :pirate: :pirate:

That's is too cool! Other than the power line in the first picture, it's like looking at real photographs of what those ships might have looked like while exploring the area. Great shots Janna! I love those ships. I've been on the Lady Washington before and it's really cool. I always imagined that those ships were so much bigger than they really are. I aways thought it would be cool to volunteer and learn how to crew aboard the tall ships. Arrrrgh! :pirate:

Alright!!!! We're gonna have a whole gang of us there!

I thought it was funny - when I bought our tickets, you had to check on how you had heard about the ships. The usual choices: Friend/relative, newspaper ad, website, school, etc. But no option for OTHER: Saw sailing down the Columbia River.

Pirates are generally very self aware. Collectively, Pirates became aware of the fact they were Pirates when one of them loudly proclaimed,
