Not to side-track this thread - just wanted to say that we have purchased my husband's set on craigslist (had everything serviced prior to diving (still waiting on regulator)) and it's funny but one of the members on this forum - I think I recognized you, because my husband bought 2 tanks from you off craigslist in Stanwood and we had to erase your last name off of them :)

I frequently check Craigslist for deals and this thread is so useful- thank you!

SCUBA GEAR~DRYSUIT - $325 (Puyallup)
Date: 2009-12-09, 2:20PM PST
Reply to: sale-gnp98-1502802148@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I have a size medium USIA front-zip Drysuit , size 8 or 9 boot I think, dry gloves, a DUI hood as well as an extra hood. There is also talc powder, USIA t-shirt, user's manual, and carrying bag. This has only been used less than a dozen times since I purchased at Underwater Sports. This is a great deal and I hate to sell it, but I found out i'm pregnant and won't be able to dive for a while. Thanks, have a great day!

*Undergarment is pictured, but it has been sold, I took $75 off the original price of $400 because of this*

especially if the owners sorta confused about powder coating or painting... not sure how one makes that mistake unless you were not the one who did it which seems to insinuate he really doesn't know much about the tanks in general.

enough vaugery that I'd hold off on buying them.

smallish Jet fins, $25 Al80s, cheap lead

Post by renoun »

Catalina Al-80's for $25 (stages anybody?), $1 per pound lead, and small (guessing here) Jet Fins for $25 might be worthwhile. The other stuff looks pretty old. I'll take the fins if they are XL jets and somebody in Tacoma ends up looking at this stuff.

Sure! Back in the days we had to make our own weights. I used wheel balancing weights that I got from the local tire store, melted them down with a blow torch, and poured them into a mold....worked like a champ! :rawlings:

But then soft weights made an appearance and I threw all that old crap away!

Every now and then, though, you can still find weight molds in the dark, far corners of older dive shops...usually covered with cobwebs!

Be careful with these, I don't understand what was repainted. I know that some folks hate how these trim out but they seem to be popular with short folks.
