What Have These Guys Been Eating???

Post by dwashbur »

We found both of these guys on a dive along the NDZ rope at Cove 2 last Saturday.

This guy's insides look like he got hold of a piece of licorice or something...or maybe he just had some bad bryozoan?

And this little fellow almost appears to have a worm of some sort inside him. Fascinating to look at!

I saw a Dirona albolineata today who had insides that looked a lot like your first photo. I don't think it was quite as dark inside as yours but close. I assumed it was just it's organs. It had it's back to me and I had my wide angle on at the time so I didn't bother to take it's photo.

That white line doesn't look all that healthy but it's hard to tell what gave him the black innards. T object in the hooded is part of it's internal organs. Not sure what But I saw lots of them like that at Port Townsend last week. Could be part of the reproductive system?? They are breeding right now.
