Re: FS: Doubles manifold, 8" bands, and maybe wing
Oops, I forgot to mention that I might consider trading the manifold and bands for a good singles wing or a starter digital camera and housing.

FS: Doubles manifold, 8" bands, and maybe wing
I recently bought a tech doubles setup. I am a new diver and have no need for doubles right now, so I changed the tanks to regular valves to use as singles. Therefore, I am willing to sell the manifold & bands. I will likely also end up selling the wing that I got with them (I want to dive it fi...

Re: WTB Henderson Ice-cap XL
I'll check those out, but I really want to try one of these. I'm not after it for the warmth (although it might help avoid the occassional "ice cream headache"); I have heard from divers in Alaska that this solves mask leakage problems because the mask seals to this hood rather than to the...

WTB Henderson Ice-cap XL
I am looking for a hood that Henderson recently discontinued called an "Ice-cap" (it goes under your normal hood). I have searched the internet, and I've found every size except for mine (XL). If any of you have one of these laying around or see one in your LDS, I would love to hear about ...

Re: Who's your LDS and Why??
I apologize for reviving an older thread, but I just wanted to give a plug for my LDS. I have been to most of the shops in Portland, and I have settled on UnderWaterWorks in Tigard. When I first got into diving, I bought used gear from a friend that had quit diving. When I went to get it serviced, m...

Re: I need tanks!!
Congratulations on the new to you tanks :thumb3d: . They looked pretty swell in the picture. Thanks. I dropped them off at UWW today for vis and a fill. Unfortunately, they are due for hydro later this year. I'm still pretty excited (I can't tell you how many tanks I've missed on CL this year; you'...

Wanted: STA
Does anyone have a single tank adapter that they want to sell cheap? Or, does anyone in Portland-metro have one that I can borrow to test out a wing? I have an OMS doubles wing with bungees to keep it compressed that I am curious to try with a single tank (assuming it may "taco" badly, but...

Well, that explains how you would use the 12' reg hose that spatman has for sale in the gear section...

Re: Necanicum or Siletz?
Thanks. I've dove both Tillamook and Newport (Barview Jetty and Three Graces at Tilly, The Fingers and Wacoma Dock at Newport). I had trouble with the entry / exit at Barview, and the slack tide didn't last long. Once the current caused us to run from the jetty, we went straight to Three Graces whic...

Re: Lake Merwin is F'n COLD
did you try out those twins??? not yet! need to some other bits and pieces together first... What do you need? I have a nice doubles manifold and 8" tank bands that I'm considering selling. The manifold is a Thermo (XS Scuba) 230 bar with isolator valve (same as this one but 230 instead of 200...

Re: I need tanks!!
Here's another set of tanks in Vancouver, WA. Apparently Vancouver is a hot bed of LP steel tanks. These are LP95's. Nice tanks. If you could work something out with the person selling them I could probably pick them up for you and bring them up next weekend. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/spo/...

Re: Can I play?
ORDiver- Was that 40 degree air temp or water temp? Most of my dives have been in about 50 degree water so far... would I have to worry about my reg freezing in 40 degree water? Thanks. Oh, and let me know when you have room and patience for a newbie; my schedule is pretty flexible these days.

Necanicum or Siletz?
Has anyone here dove in either Necanicum (Seaside) or Siletz (Lincoln City) bays? I'm trying to think of somewhere closer than the sound that might have decent vis in the winter. I know Netarts can be okay, but there seems to be a lot of boat traffic when the other bays are flushed of crabs. I don't...

Re: Can I play?
Thank you all for the warm welcome. It seems like a good group here. I really like the people on the other scuba forum I use, but they are all in Texas or Florida, so I'll probably never meet them. Hopefully I'll see a few of you in the water. Jabberjaw- Thanks for the info on your drysuit. It sound...

Re: I need tanks!!
I saw these on CL:

I've never seen LP 92's, but they're close to what you're looking for if you're willing to drive to Camas / Vancouver.

Can I play?
This is my obligatory intro post... I'm a fairly new diver living in Portland. I fell in love with diving after spending a week in the water in Kauai two years ago (snorkeling every day and one "resort dive"). I came home and immediately signed up for OW (SDI cert 6/08 through Oregon Under...
