Re: Need Whites Fusion sizing advice for dive buddy

I have not tried a weezle..and I am one of those who gets cold very easily. I use a MK3 from Whites and gosh darn...after 10 years of diving (with a trilaminate suit), I am much more comfortable now in that thing. Caveat....be prepared to add extra weight for this though!

Re: Suunto Vyper issue

Yup. It turned into a bottom timer for my dives last weekend (and possibly this weekend if I can't get it fixed in time). I called the LDS as Scott recommended. The shop apologized for foisting me off to Aqualung...but he wanted me to start there just in case. I didnt' mind, that is where I thought ...

Suunto Vyper issue

Last weekend my Suunto Vyper would not search for my transmitter to record my air. So it turned into a bottom timer and I used my spg to watch air. Several folks at a dive shop tried to fix it, but couldn't. I spent Monday reading the manual top to bottom. Tried all their tricks...the transmitter is...

THe guy hadn't returned my call (from the morning) so we called again after 6pm and they told us that they have gotten many calls but no one has followed through. I was thinking w...

Dive info for Oahu Hawaii?

Heading to Oahu in May with 4 other non divers to celebrate a 40th birthday. They want to snorkle, and I want to do at least some diving. I won't have a dive buddy, so not sure how much shore diving I can do.. 2 have reservations near Diamond Head at New Otani (1 mile further down the beach from Wai...

Is the club dive still going on (did a new cruise director agree to take the helm)?

funkydiver and I will be there, but can't handle cruise director responsibilities right now...too many deaths in the family to have energy to focus on directing. :timeout:

Re: Portland area dive shops with drysuits?

It depends on who you talk to and what options. A whites fusion can be $2400 (for the suit, covering, thermie, boots, bag) It can also be $1600 (lower quality covering, different fusion suit). diverightinscuba.com had it for $1600 yesterday...or was it $1400? Ron at Hoodsport N Dive has two of them ...

Portland area dive shops with drysuits?

I want to try on some drysuits. I know Oregon Underwater (NE Halsey & 122) in portland only has about 5 suits (one brand/style). So I will head over there and try some on. Hydrosports in Salem had 1 used suit. Salem Scuba had a white fusion (but I have decided not to go that route). But any othe...

Found gloves at Octo Hole yesterday?

Sarah Worth (eric.sarah@gmail.com) left her gloves sitting on the railing at Octopus Hole yesterday. DEEP SIX brand. They were still there at 3pm when we exited the water, but were gone by 330pm when Sarah went back to the dive site to get them. A black truck left the site at the same time we did (a...

Vancouver BC is a fun place to go especially if you wanted to do some non-diving things. YOu can dive just up the Sea2Sky hwy about 20 miles (30?) north of Vancouver on some wrecks. Get your airfills in Vancouver. Don't know how "close" that is. Squamish might have airfills too (they are 2...

I don't know this dive site well, I should get out there more often... We may have a boatload (dive load?) of decking available in the next few months ...

I have done some short notice cancels...I don't usually feel bad because I know there was someone else they were diving with. Once I had to call my dive buddy at 6am (we were meeting at 730am to carpool up and wanted to give ample notice) and say I came down with a sore throat/cold. Luckily for me, ...
