Following up on the idea of having John Rawlings as a guest presenter to the Dive Club here, I want to know when you folks are available to get together. Also, I met another diver at BUWS, David McLean, who was a designer for ScubaPro and SeaQuest (US Divers?) for many, many years. He has a presentation on the History of the Buoyancy Compensator.

I wonder if having a BBQ with one or both of them would be amenable to you guys. What do you think? =D>

I propose getting together at Newsvine HQ (in the Seattle P-I Building, Downtown Waterfront) on Sunday, June 11 @ Noon.

Anyone is welcome to propose an alternate date and time, I just figured that we have to start somewhere. :book:

You guys are in for a treat ... besides being a great diver, photographer, writer, and all-around good guy, John's presentation is absolutely riveting.

If I can work it into my schedule I might even show up to hear it again ...

Uhhhhh......I hope that you're talking about getting together on June 11th for something OTHER than my presentation on the search for the Warrens in Lake Crescent.....right? Remember I said that I have Saturdays in July open. I'll still be in the air returning from San Salvador on Sunday, June 11th.

My apologies for the misunderstanding if you mean getting together for something entirely different.

We will mock him cruelly for his error, Mr. Rawlings. He will cry like a little girl. Don't worry, well get this straightened out! Uh.....how about Saturday, July22nd, at, say, 2 PM?

Right now, (and the situation won't last long), I have ALL of the Saturdays in July open. I'd like the club members to reach consensus as soon as possible regarding which Saturday would work out best for the most people wanting to attend, and I'll be there. Perhaps Calvin can put together a poll or something so that those wanting to attend can have some input.

I need to put my schedule together so that I can plan trips up to BC and the usual family stuff, so I'd appreciate knowing the date soon.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

What about the guys driving up from Oregon? :dontknow:

I would think that an evening meeting Saturday night would either force them to get a hotel room or not get back home until "0:DARK:30" the next morning.

So, sounds like it's a go. Saturday, July 15 @ 1pm. Location:

Newsvine, Inc.
101 Elliott Ave. West
Suite 120
Seattle, WA 98119

I'll have to let folks into the building when they get here since it's the weekend. I'll post contact info when the time gets closer. Maverick, we'll be BBQing so you'll still be able to join for some beer and food and gawking at John's gear. I'll also shoot Dave McLean an email and see if he wants to do his presentation on the history of the BCD. This looks to be a fun day guys and gals~!
