another new guy. :)

Post by hoover »

So, dove three tree with the Marker Bouys on sunday and met Sparky and Lostinbrownsmead who told me about this forum/club. Been reading a bunch of posts while waiting for the account to get approved. Wish I had gotten on sooner and I would have met you guys at cove II.

I am in the Seattle area. Got my first C-card at the beginning of september. Probably 30 dives now, but still waiting on the cable for my computer so I can update my paper log and get an exact number.

No real LDS religion at this point and trying to keep it that way, but the guys at UWS Seattle have always treated me great.

Trying to get in at least a couple dives a week. Working stiff during the week, but depending on the day can sneak out early for a local shore/night dive.

Dove redondo and three tree (first time for both) this last weekend. Have hit Mukilteo, Edmonds UWP and the Alki coves numerous times. Also did blakely rock and a couple dives in the san juans with Banditos Charters.

Focusing on getting air consumption down, better bouyancy control and stronger swimming skills. Going to start a rescue class this weekend and hopefully do a wreck class in the spring.

Always looking for more dive buddies and diving opportunities.

Guess that's it.

Hi everybody!

[edit] oh yeah, my name is matt. :) [/edit]

after weeks of being frustrated every weekend trying to drum up dives with my limited dive buddy pool, find a scheduled shop fun dive, or pre-scheduled club dive to go on... i realize that if i had come here first i could probably have just posted "anyone want to dive tonight at X, Y or Z" and had several people to come out (or invite me to the dive they already had going on).

this is great! i am really excited to be here.

Welcome Matt! Glad you hooked up with Sparky and Jay...

NWDiveClub is a great place to be. There is a great mix of excited newbies, and gray, wizened dive yodas with a bazillion dives that are still excited about diving!

For the most part folks around here are polite and nice, and there is no shortage of opinions and good info.

And most importantly, WE DIVE!!! :supz:

Hope to see you in the water someday!

Hey Matt: Welcome to our Little P O D ( Pol OF Dive buddies )

I am so glad you took us up on our offer to check out the Club
I sadly don't get to make the trip up to the Seattle Area as often as I would like

But I do try to make it up every couple months or so

Like I told you when we were visiting at there tree last Sunday
I used to log in to several other sites but I figure why bother when these guys are as stoked for diving as I am

see you soon

Welcome Matt! :partyman:

So, does "hoover" refer to your air consumption? :bootyshake: :evil4:

Welcome aboard, Matt....and looking forward to you getting into 'critterwatching' something folks here seem to really enjoy! You'll have no shortage of company if that turns out to be your interest!

Welcome ~ Its not hard to find a few dive buddies around here.
