I think I forgot to mention Sheri Tepper -- Gate to Women's Country is another take altogether on gender roles. Her trilogy on the role of religion in human societies, which begins with Grass, goes through Raising the Stones, and ends in Sideshow, is simply superb.

KW,

I loved that scene in Armageddon.

I hate the new cartoons, all PC and safe. Now I have to rent the good Looney Toons so my kids can see what I grew up with.

How about the cultural aspect that they are depriving us of? Every time I hear the Barber of Saville, I still pictuer Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs. :-({|=

Did any of you TREKIES go to the OMSI exhibit when star trek was there? I remember going when I was like 13? Don't remember much, but I was sure it would come up on this post!?

I don't watch Si-Fi all that much since there are rarely really good one's made.

I read every night and Si-Fi is my favorite. For those that don't think women are ever written is a positive light need to read any of the David Weber books.

Some of my favorite authors are.

David Weber
David Drake
Mike Sheppard (local author, another one where the main character is female)
Anne McCaffrey
William Dietz
Elizabeth Moon
John Ringo.
Tolkien
Herbert, I remember reading Dune when I was a freshman at college in one night. I just could not put it down.

I was really captivated by movie "Lost Room".
Is anyone have seen it and what is your impression?

Dennis
