Nudibranch ID Help - Red Gill or Three Lined

Post by Chevayea »

I was hoping to get some help with the ID of these nudibranchs. They were all very small and I'm a rookie but they might be easy for you pros to ID:

1. Red Gilled? (Fabellina verrucosa) - Taken on The Ranger in Port Townsend

2. Three Lined? (Fabellina trilineata) - Taken on the Quartermaster Wreck

3. Three Lined? (Fabellina trilineata) - Taken on the Anna Foss

4. Three Lined? (Fabellina trilineata) - Taken at Titlow

So, I did the best I could to ID them but I'm not sure if I got 'em right. Any help?

All red gills. Three lines tend to be smaller and the white lines on the side and back are quite distinct and run full length the cerata are grouped into distint bands rather than continuous like these are.

Note also that the three-lined's rhinophores have distinctive ridges (annulate, if you're into technical terms) where the verrucosa's are smooth.
