Or all the time between 130 and 60?

(I'll pile on-but to be fair we spent way more time between 130 and 50 on our first dive--there is something odd about 30 fpm when you've been doing 10 fpm for a long time).

It is really easy to go too slow off the bottom. Its one reason I went to the "50ft up from depth = first deep stop" guideline that I have been fairly successful with, moreso than 75% of depth yada yada. 50ft up being just below your typical 60ft offgassing ceiling. I am less timid about getting going at a good clip to get there. Then I have a 30sec sliding stop to put the brakes on with.

Lingering is no big deal on 1:1 deco but its really packing on the time at 1:2.

There's just no pleasing you guys! :smt064 Two of the biggest clowns in scuba, did their very first Deco dive to 130' for almost 30 minutes, without computers, and without a set of tables, and you're giving them a hard time for coming up too slow! #-o Perhaps we followed the slope a little too closely. I think we're just happy to be alive thankyouverymuch! Especially me, since the polish kid was calling deco. We'll try to "shape" it better the next time so it's more pleasing to the eyes! :neener:
