THIS MORNING @ REDONDO

Post by cardiver »

Bnboly and I had an "interesting" dive at Redondo this morning. The viz was typical for this time of year and maxed out at maybe 10 fsw at depth. We found a nice sized gpo at around 53 fsw and not much else. The interesting part of the dive was at the end. Coming up slope at around 50 fsw we ran into some very strong surge, which I don't remember experience here before. By the time we were at our saftey it felt like we were facing up stream in a river. I had to literally dig my hands into the sand to keep from blowing back down slope! When we surfaced we both agreed that it was the strangest safety stop either one of us had ever experienced.

Thanks! That was what I expected to see when we surfaced. We were south of it and there wasn't much coming out of the pipe, regardless.

what is your camera set up if I may ask? do you have a strobe?
what f stop do you use for such nice clarity! The student would like to learn from the master on these!

I guess I'll answer for myself and bnboly.... We both shoot with the casio digital and no external strobe. His Casio is the VASTLY inferior 10 mp model, while mine is the SUPERIOR 12 mp model! :bootyshake:
You can clearly see the greatness of my pics over the snap shot like pics that Bill took, which is mainly due to the diver on the other side of the lens. :boxing:
Both of us are shooting in the auto mode and on macro as far as I know.
